GHOTEL Goes Green
“Sustainable action is an essential part of many people’s lives. It is important to us to continue our guests’ personal efforts during their stay at a GHOTEL Group hotel and to fulfill our responsibility as a company to operate sustainably. We value transparency and seriousness, which is why we have chosen GreenSign as an experienced and professional certification partner in this field in a first step,” said Erik Florvaag, Managing Director of the GHOTEL Group.
The GHOTEL Group has long been committed to a variety of measures that enable sustainable business and private travel in their hotels. These include, among other things, the use of local food, the reduction of portion packaging, the implementation of sustainable waste management, and ensuring the highest possible energy efficiency. In addition, numerous social projects have been supported, including assistance to the victims of the flood disaster in the Ahr Valley, the accommodation of Ukrainian war refugees, and most recently, a donation to a regional nonprofit organization.
With the help of the GreenSign certification, the GHOTEL Group will now analyze the current state of sustainability for each individual hotel. A resulting action plan will then provide the opportunity to further expand sustainability efforts individually. In a further step, the GHOTEL Group will focus on the so-called blue ecology.
